  • 1 lb dried brown beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 smoked sausage (rookworst)
  • 4 oz bacon, diced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 leek, sliced
  • 8 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
