Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 lb ground beef (optional)
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • tonkatsu sauce for serving
