Ingredients

  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp water
  • A few drops orange food coloring (optional)

How it starts

    Make the pastry cream by whisking egg yolks with sugar and cornstarch, then temper with hot milk and cook in a saucepan until the cream thickens.
