Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork belly, cut into large cubes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp fermented black beans
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 head garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp whole black peppercorns
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 dried banana blossoms (optional)
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs (optional)
